Workshop || Local Government 101

A free workshop to learn tips on how to make an effective submission to Tauranga City Council, with a focus on the 2021 Long Term Plan (LTP), is coming up in February.

The Local Government 101 workshop will be facilitated by Elizabeth Hughes, an experienced local government facilitator who focuses on supporting community engagement best practice

Tauranga City Council’s Community Development Team invite community organisations to attend the workshop, aimed at demystifying local government processes and helping attendees understand how to contribute to making positive change for their community through submissions.

The workshop will cover:

  • Introduction to Long Term Plan/ Annual Plan council processes
  • Understanding how funding decisions are made
  • Tips for making effective submissions
  • And it will include a brief presentation from a community organisation that has experience with successful submissions to Council

Workshop 1:

Date: Monday 15th February
Time: 1-3.30pm
Venue: Tauranga City Council, 306 Cameron Road.

Workshop 2:

Date: Tuesday 16th February
Time: 9am-11.30am
Venue: Village Hall, The Historic Village, 17th Avenue

There will be an opportunity for networking at the end of the workshop.
A light morning/afternoon tea will be provided and the cost of the workshop is free, courtesy of Tauranga City Council’s Community Development Team.
